***Rebus Gestis Awards Banquet ~ May 12, 2011***
Another year of hard work, another Awards Banquet. Congratulations to everyone on their awards, there are far, far too many to list here!! However, we did want to acknowledge the recipients of the following:
Club Member of the Year: Emily Hartlage
Margo Hall Outstanding Latin Student: Erich Totter
Regina S. Kelley Scholarship: Celia Garthwait
Well done; ya'll deserved it! :D
***62nd Annual State Latin Forum ~ April 7-9, 2011***
The State Forum went well! Leon got 3rd in Senior Division Academics and 4th Overall! :) More detailed results of the Leon team's performance can be found by clicking here!
***National Latin Exam ~ March 14, 2011***
All Latin students took this dreaded National Exam on Monday. Results will be announced at the end of the year banquet, so don’t hold your breath or you’ll be rather uncomfortable.
***Regional Latin Forum ~ January 29, 2011***
After studying hard, the Latin students of Tallahassee converged on Leon High School for the annual competition
of Certamen, Creatives, Exams, Olympics, and more.
Leon won! Yay!
***Maclay Certamen Workshop ~ November 20, 2010***
Congratulations to Leon's Advanced certamen team made up of Samuel Tew, Celia Garthwait, Mike Washburn, and Erich Totter! They got 3rd place in the final round, beating Maclay and tying with St. John's during prelims!
***Homecoming ~ November 2010***
For the third year in a row, Rebus Gestis got 1st in the annual hall-decorating contest. Hooray! This year’s theme: Super Heroes vs. Supervillians. Gotham City was brilliant – what else can we say? An abundance of time and effort were put in by club members, so it was well-deserved.
***Chili dinner ~ November 2010***
Thanks to everyone to came out to the chili dinner, it
was quite a success! Bowl after bowl of delicious chili
was eaten and games were played – typical fun.
***Inductions ~ October 2010***
Inductions were just as they’ve been – messy! At least two dozen club members, including most of the current officers, were officially inducted by past inductees. Cake and soda were scarffed down after a cleansing hose-off. It was the typical craziness, but everyone had plenty of fun. Thanks for coming!
***Ice Cream Social ~ September 8, 2010***
I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream! The Ice Cream Social was a blast, of course! There was plenty of ice cream to go around with practically every topping available to cover it. Ultimate Frisbee and Ninja were played, among other games, and a tight-rope set-up was even attempted, though a lack of needed trees fouled the plan. Nevertheless, fun was had by all!
